Torque Caps:
The wheel mount on many current RockShox suspension forks is designed for Torque Cups. These provide a significantly larger contact surface for the hubs and thus greater stiffness in the suspension fork/wheel system. Torque Cups have a diameter of 31 mm, whereas standard cups are 22 mm.
Mavic Crossmax XL UST Disc Force rims:
These wide rims, with a 30 mm rim width, are made from high-strength Maxtal aluminium, making them lightweight and, thanks to their asymmetrical spoke pattern, highly laterally stiff. The new Black Shield hardened rims are extra robust and scratch-resistant. Even in the event of punctures, the rims remain black at the damaged point. The new hookless rim shape is more aerodynamic and faster. The rim joint is additionally welded and planed. Thanks to the asymmetrical rim design, braking and drive forces are absorbed evenly, which increases the service life. The Crossmax XL rims are suitable for UST, tubeless tyres, Tubeless Ready tyres and standard tyres with an additional inner tube.
Mavic Force Aluminium:
A tubeless rim that is 20 per cent stiffer and ultra-durable. Thanks to this innovation, a thread is created at the same time as the spoke hole is drilled. The spokes are screwed directly into the rim wall without nipples and secured. Only one of the two rim walls is drilled through, leaving the upper rim flange intact. No rim tape is required, saving 30 g and increasing stiffness. It is the most reliable tubeless system with easy tyre fitting.
Mavic Blackshild:
Thanks to a unique double treatment of the rim – a first black anodised layer coated with a second satin-finished layer – resistance to impacts and scratches is twice that of a conventional wheel. The lifespan against stone chips and scratches is twice as long: the rim remains black upon impact and has a distinctive matt finish.
Mavic Crossmax XL Disc Spokes:
High-strength stainless steel spokes offer very high strength and durability. The spokes form a single unit with the Force nipples. These are screwed directly into the rim.
Mavic Crossmax Infinity Disc Hubs:
The tried-and-tested Mavic QRM auto industrial bearings are used in the Infinity hubs. The wider bearing spacing ensures torsional stiffness of the hub, whilst the new spoke mounting ensures effective power transfer. Equipped with the Instant Drive sprocket freehub body and the ORM Auto axle system. The self-aligning bearing system of the rear hub, QRM Auto, combined with the sprocket freehub, ensures maintenance-free operation over a long period.
