Mavic Deemax Boost 12x148mm rear wheel:
The Deemax Boost rear hub with a 12x148 mm Boost thru-axle mounting dimension. These Boost rear wheels are only compatible with frames featuring 148 mm Boost thru-axles and cannot be converted. Mavic Deemax DH YLW:
The Deemax DH YLW is a limited edition of the new Deemax DH and celebrates the 25th anniversary of this iconic model in style. With its legendary design and an even brighter yellow, it pays homage to the legends who have written the greatest chapters of its history, including Nicolas Vouilloz, Greg Minaar and Sam Hill.
This exceptional wheel was designed at the foot of the French Alps and developed, tested and approved by the riders of the Mavic DH Team. The 30 mm wide, welded rim has been specially designed to absorb the heaviest impacts and dampen riding vibrations, offering maximum confidence and active relaxation on rough terrain.
The Deemax DH YLW is fitted with 28 J-Bent spokes made from hardened steel, offering the ideal balance between robustness and responsiveness for maximum efficiency on the most demanding descents. The spokes are designed for quick and easy repair, allowing you to avoid a time-consuming pit stop in the event of a puncture and get back on the road swiftly. To make things even easier, two spare spokes are included with every wheel, so you can ride with even greater peace of mind.
The wide rim of the Deemax DH YLW allows for the fitting of DH tyres with a width of 2" to 3", offering the rider exceptional versatility to adapt their tyres to all conditions.
Mavic Deemax UST Disc rims:
The 30 mm wide rims, made from high-strength Maxtal aluminium, are extremely stiff laterally thanks to their asymmetrical spoke pattern. Developed specifically for use on DH bikes, these rims are ultra-stable. The rim flanges are extremely puncture-resistant thanks to Pinch Flat Protection technology. The new Black Shield hardened rims are extra robust and scratch-resistant. Even in the event of punctures, the rims remain black at the damaged point. The rim flange is additionally welded and milled flat. Thanks to the asymmetrical rim design, braking and drive forces are absorbed evenly, which increases the service life. The Deemax rims are suitable for UST, tubeless tyres, Tubeless Ready tyres and standard tyres with an additional inner tube.
Mavic Deemax spokes:
High-strength stainless steel spokes offer very high strength and durability. Classically laced with standard nipples, the wheels can be trued and repaired quickly and easily. This is not insignificant given the intended use.
Mavic Deemax wheel technology:
- Mavic QRM Auto: Mavic’s top-of-the-range bearing technology: featuring a double seal and extremely dimensionally stable, self-aligning, and exceptionally torsionally rigid and durable, perfect for the long-lasting bearing assembly of Mavic hubs.
- Mavic Instant Drive Freehub Body: The Instant Drive 360 freehub system is super-light and ensures rapid power transfer with a mere 9-degree engagement angle. A large, non-contact rubber seal reduces friction. And a wide selection of axle stubs ensures compatibility with many mounting standards. The oversized aluminium axle and the hardened aluminium freehub body save 40 g. Two pawls ensure fast and loss-free power transfer. A radial seal guarantees low friction at high speeds and perfect water resistance. This freehub body is easy to convert and is available as an HG10 version for Shimano and SRAM 8-11-speed, SRAM XD 11-speed and 12-speed XG.
- Mavic SRS: Spoke Retention System. The spoke seats on the hub body are specially milled to ensure the spoke head remains firmly anchored even under extreme conditions. The spoke still has sufficient play to provide adequate flexibility on rough terrain. Spokes remain securely anchored even under the harshest frontal loads. The wheel still offers sufficient flexibility.
- Mavic Black Shield Protection: the reinforced rim flanges are ultra-sturdy and puncture-resistant.
- Mavic Maxtal: This aluminium alloy, manufactured exclusively for Mavic, is 30 per cent stronger than 6106 aluminium. This means Maxtal rims can be super-light yet still sturdy.
- Mavic SUP: Soude Usine Process. A welded rim joint is more stable, prevents any brake judder and makes it easier to lace and true a perfect wheel.
