Shimano Centerlock Lockring

For 20 mm and 15 mm thru-axle mounting, an External Spline lockring with a larger inner diameter is required for Centerlock hubs.

The external spline lock rings can be used with all hub types, from 9 mm quick-release to 20 mm downhill axles. As these protrude further at the outer edge than lock rings with an internal tool slot, they can cause space issues with road bike frames and forks. We recommend using lock rings with an internal tool slot for road bikes

External tool holder: 44 mm outer diameter with 16-tooth spline. Compatible tools e.g. Shimano TL-FC36, TL-FC32 or TL-FC33. Corresponds to the tool for Hollowtech II bottom bracket assembly

Internal tool holder: 23 mm inner diameter with 12-tooth spline; compatible tools e.g. Shimano TLLR15, Pedro’s 6460000. Corresponds to the tool for cassette installation
