Braking performance doesn’t have to be heavy. Maximum braking power and stability in extreme conditions – that is the MT7’s motto. In tough enduro or downhill riding, the extra braking power provided by the 4-piston calipers and their precise modulation offer added safety. The tool-free adjustable brake levers provide the necessary ergonomics to keep the brakes perfectly under control, even on rough terrain and long descents.
Magura MT 7 Pro HC brake lever:
the MT7 brake levers and Carbontecture SL master cylinder housing. The Magura MT brake levers can be mounted on the right or left
- Magura HC1 brake lever
- Magura Carbotecture SL A material newly developed by Magura, consisting of a high proportion of carbon fibres embedded in a thermoplastic matrix. More powerful, tensile-stronger, more flexible and more fracture-resistant than conventional fibre-reinforced plastics or laminated carbon fibre mats. Ideally suited for processing using the Carboflow process.
- Magura Carboflow A process newly developed by Magura that allows carbon fibres to be optimally aligned with the direction of stress. Produces homogeneous, predictable surfaces. Significant weight savings are possible, as there is no need for oversizing.
- Magura Carbolay The fibres of the lever are stitched onto a carrier matrix before being coated with resin and cured.
Magura MT 7 brake caliper:
The Magura MT7 four-piston brake calipers, forged from a high-performance aluminium alloy with new magnetiXchange brake pistons for easy pad replacement.
- Forged 4-piston brake caliper with 4 brake pads
- Magura MagneticXchange: the magnetic brake pistons make it easier to fit the brake pads
- Magura Anti-Squeal: The combination of a specially formulated brake pad compound and brake disc design counteracts noise during braking.
- Magura Anti-Drag: Newly developed sealing rings and an adapted piston design ensure that, even when used in sub-zero temperatures or extremely muddy conditions, the pistons always return to their original position and do not rub against the disc.
- Magura Anti-Heat: The entire MT brake caliper system is designed to dissipate heat quickly into the surrounding environment, preventing a drop in performance.
- Magura RHR: The new Magura brakes, MT8, MT6 and MT4, are factory-fitted with a swivelling hose outlet on the spoke side to prevent damage and allow for neat hose routing on various frame designs.
Magura MDR-P brake disc
The Magura MDR-P brake discs for e-bike use feature an aluminium carrier and a floating steel braking surface mounted on gel bearings. The high-end brake disc utilises technology from the motorbike sector. More is better: thanks to their solid construction, the MDR-P discs offer outstanding heat dissipation, making them perfectly suited for use on e-bikes. Naturally, they are also recommended if you’re looking for ultra-stable discs for enduro and DH use. Brake discs for downhill to all-mountain use. Also compatible with older Magura disc brakes.
Particularly robust, these are the ideal brake discs for e-bike, DH and all-mountain use of Magura disc brakes under high loads. The high stability, heat resistance and low wear are ensured by a special steel alloy and the more robust construction. The thickness of the Magura Storm discs, at just 2 mm, ensures minimal pad wear and a silent ride with maximum stability.
Magura Royal Blood:
Magura continues to rely on high-performance mineral oil as the brake fluid. It is completely harmless to health in the event of skin contact and, as it does not absorb water over time like DOT fluid, bleeding intervals are significantly longer. For optimal performance, bleeding is required every 6–12 months, depending on frequency of use.
Magura warranty:
Naturally, Magura also provides the well-known 5-year leak-proof guarantee for the new brakes.
The Magura MT Disc is supplied with Post Mount 6 brake calipers.
You can select the appropriate adapter for your frame and brake disc size. Currently, almost all frames use the PM standard.
IS 2000: Side mounting. An adapter is always required to fit the Magura MT; maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear-end frames
Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the Magura MT with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame.
Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting of the Magura MT with 180 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203 mm, minimum 180 mm disc size. 140 mm and 160 mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.
Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting without an adapter for the Magura MT with 203 mm brake discs. Can only be used with 203 mm or 220 mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
