Cane Creek Hellbender 70 Bottom Bracket

The Hellbender 70 bottom bracket from Cane Creek, featuring 440C stainless steel bearings and threaded cup-to-cup construction, is perfect for equipping your bike with a high-quality bottom bracket. Unlike other press-fit bottom brackets, the cups are screwed together. This has the major advantage that the bottom bracket shell sits very securely and absolutely parallel within the frame. This reliably prevents the annoying creaking and squeaking associated with conventional press-fit bearings. The 440C stainless steel ball bearings and the bolted cup-and-shell design guarantee a long service life and smooth pedalling.

Pressfit 30 / 68–73 bottom bracket shells:

Pressfit 30 bottom bracket shells have a width of 73 to 68 mm and a press-fit dimension for the bottom bracket of 46 mm. These bottom brackets are pressed into place. With Cane Creek bottom brackets, the bearing cups are screwed together and thus pulled into the bottom bracket shell. This is the significantly more durable assembly method, as the bearings are additionally secured by the bearing cups.

Shimano Hollowtech II crank axle 24 mm:

The Shimano Hollowtech II crankset system features a solid 24 mm axle. Road bike cranksets have an axle length of 110 mm, whilst MTB cranksets for 73 mm and 68 mm bottom bracket shells have an axle length of 120 mm. The MTB cranks for 83 mm bottom bracket shells have an axle length of 136 mm. This axle system is also used on FSA Megaexo cranks and Race Face X-type cranks. The respective bottom brackets are compatible with one another.

FSA MegaExo 24 mm / Road - MTB:

The FSA MegaExo crankset system has a through-axle of 24 mm, corresponding to the Shimano Hollowtech II system. However, some models feature a 24.7 mm axle. These bottom brackets are not compatible with those models.

Race Face X-Type crank axle 24 mm:

The Race Face X-Type crankset system has a through-axle of 24 mm, just like the Shimano Hollowtech II cranks. The X-Type MTB cranks for 73 and 68 mm bottom bracket shells have an axle length of 120 mm.
