The 12-speed e-bike rear derailleur from the new XTR Shadow ES Di2 wireless series. The e-bike rear derailleur draws power from the e-bike battery via an SD-300 cable. Designed for cassettes with a 10-51 tooth range.

Shimano XTR 9260 Di2 rear derailleur compatibility:

The Shimano XTR RD-M9260-12 rear derailleur is compatible with Shimano motors (EP8, EP801, EP6, EP5) and the Bosch Smart System BES3, from 2022 onwards. The rear derailleur must be connected to the e-bike drive unit’s batteries using the SD300 cable or, for the Bosch system, the EW-PS300 cable. For the TQ Drive Unit (HPR50), the EW-EX310 CAN adapter is required. The Freshift and Autoshift functions are only available with Shimano motors.

Wireless Di2 shifting, designed for E-MTBs and HYPERGLIDE+. The ultra-robust 12-speed XTR RD-M9260 rear derailleur with a long cage is best combined with the 10-51T CS-M9200 and offers features that every rider will appreciate. It utilises the same wireless Di2 shifting technology and other strengths of the other XTR models, but is powered by the bike’s main battery, ensuring a stable power supply and eliminating the need for an additional battery.

Shimano Auto Shift:

AUTO SHIFT is an automatic shifting technology that reads your pedalling dynamics so you’re always in the right gear and can concentrate fully on the ride. Multiple system sensors continuously measure cadence, torque and speed to automatically select the right gear for you, without the need for manual shifting. When cadence and speed decrease and torque increases, the system selects a lighter gear. When you push down and accelerate, the system shifts up for you, ensuring you’re always in the right gear at the right time. Focus on what matters with AUTO SHIFT.

Shimano Freeshift:

The shifting behaviour can be quickly changed by selecting AUTOMATIC FREE SHIFT or MANUAL FREE SHIFT in the E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app. Better concentration with AUTOMATIC FREE SHIFT. Automatic mode uses your speed and app settings to shift whilst you’re riding, so you can start pedalling again in the right gear. Even in automatic mode, you can shift at any time to react to changes in terrain.

FREE SHIFT is available for compatible e-bikes with Di2 shifting. When coasting, the drive unit delivers just enough power to allow the chainring and cassette to shift gears without affecting the bike’s acceleration. FREE SHIFT for e-MTB redefines mountain bike control, allowing you to focus entirely on the terrain and your body position during corners and descents. The ability to select the right gear without pedalling will change the way you approach cornering. FREE SHIFT helps you focus on planning your line and maintaining a stable position for greater control and better acceleration out of the corner. FREE SHIFT for e-MTB helps you maintain a stable body position by enabling gear changes without pedalling in the middle of a downhill. With FREE SHIFT, you ride out of the downhill in the right gear and avoid gears that are too light or too heavy.
