The new wireless Di2 shifting and drivetrain groupset for the GXR 12x1-speed gravel components. Available with either a Shimano SLX or XT 10-51-tooth cassette for Microspline freehub bodies or the Sunrace CSMZ903 cassette for HG freehub bodies.

Shimano GRX R820, the new wireless gravel groupset designed for 12-speed cassettes. With the single-chainring cranksets featuring 40- or 42-tooth chainrings and the 10-51 cassette, the GRX components offer a maximum gear ratio range of 510 per cent. Optionally available with shift-brake levers for operating dropper seatposts

Shimano GRX 12-speed:

Shimano GRX Rear Derailleur RD-RX822SGS:

The Shimano RD-RX822-SGS long cage is designed for 12x1 drivetrains with a maximum cassette size of 51 teeth. The GRX rear derailleurs are characterised by quiet, smooth, precise and reliable shifting, even on the most demanding terrain, thanks primarily to the chain stabilisation system known as Shadow RD+.

Shimano STI ST RX820 Disc Shift-Brake Lever:

The 12-speed STI Disc shift-brake lever ST-RX820, a very compact shift-brake lever for hydraulic disc brakes and mechanical shifting systems. Ergonomics specially adapted for gravel handlebars are characterised by a brake lever pivot point raised by 18 mm, a curved lever shape and non-slip textures on the contact surfaces, ensuring optimum grip even on the roughest terrain. The grips feature an ergonomic design adapted to the shape of gravel handlebars for improved comfort – even over long distances. The GRX STI levers can be combined with the BLRX812 auxiliary brake levers. These are mounted between the shift levers and the brake on the top tube, just like classic cross-country brake levers. This ensures full control over the bike in every riding situation.

Shimano BL-RX820 Disc Brake Lever:

With the BL-RX820 disc brake lever, Shimano offers a very compact brake lever for hydraulic disc brakes and 12x1 drivetrains. The left lever has no shifting function. Ergonomics specially adapted for gravel riding are characterised by a pivot point on the brake lever that is 18 mm higher, a curved lever shape and non-slip textures on the contact surfaces, which ensure optimum grip even on the roughest terrain.

Shimano BR-RX820 brake caliper:

The BR-RX820 gravel disc brake calipers, with 10 per cent more clearance to the brake pads, are particularly resistant to twisting and approved for brake discs up to 160 mm. Equipped with brake pads featuring external cooling fins, brake heat is reliably dissipated. These calipers are compatible with all Shimano disc brake levers. Recommended brake discs: SM-RT800, SM-RT86

Flat Mount Standard:

The new Flat Mount caliper standard for road bike brakes reduces weight and offers a significantly sleeker look. With the Flat Mount standard, the rear brake caliper sits directly on the chainstay; no adapter is required for caliper mounting. The bolts pass through the chainstay from below directly into the brake caliper. A flat adapter is still required on the fork. The adapter is screwed onto the rear of the fork leg, with the brake sitting directly on the adapter.

Shimano GRX FC-RX820 crankset:

The GRX cranksets have been developed to handle a wide variety of terrain and riding styles. All versions feature a 2.5 mm wider chainline, which creates more space in the frame design and allows for wider tyres. The GRX 12x1-speed crankset minimises shifting complexity by requiring shifting only at the rear cassette and is equipped with chainrings featuring Shimano’s Dynamic Chain Engagement+ tooth profile, which ensures optimal chain retention, particularly on rough terrain.

Shimano CN-M8100 chain:

The chain is perfectly matched to the 12-speed Shimano chainrings with Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) tooth profiles. The HG Plus chain has been completely redesigned and features even finer, precision-machined contact surfaces with the sprockets and chainrings, particularly on the inner links. Furthermore, the inner links are chrome-plated, making them even more durable whilst delivering excellent shifting performance when shifting up or down.

Shimano Deore XT Cassette CS-M8100:

The Shimano Deore XT 12-speed CS-M8100 cassette with 10–51 teeth is the cassette for gravel, all-mountain and enduro use, offering the widest gear range and, thanks to Hyperglide+, excellent shifting even under load. The sprocket spacing allows for precisely calculated gear changes without large, noticeable jumps or gaps, which saves power and energy and helps maintain flow on the trail in all situations. The cassettes feature an aluminium spider construction; the two largest sprockets are also made of aluminium, whilst the remaining ten are made of steel, ensuring an excellent, balanced combination of robustness and durability on the one hand, and low weight on the other.

Compatible bottom bracket shells – bottom brackets

There is now a wide variety of bottom bracket shells on modern frames. Shimano only offers compatible bottom brackets for some of these. To ensure the GRX groupset fits all frames, we supply optional FSA or Wheels MFG bottom brackets for the bottom bracket shells for which Shimano does not offer bottom brackets. Wheels Outboard bottom brackets are significantly more durable than standard press-fit bearings, as the cup halves are bolted together, ensuring they sit flat and securely within the frame. Wheels bearings are available in various quality grades: ABEC3 standard bearings, angular contact bearings and ceramic bearings.
