Shimano XT FD M8020 front derailleur

The new Shimano XT 11-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring 1–3 chainrings and an 11-speed cassette with a 11–40 or 11–42 tooth range. One of the major advantages of the XT 8000 series is the compatibility of the cassettes with conventional rear wheels. The XT 11-speed cassettes can be fitted to all freehubs designed for 9- and 10-speed Shimano MTB cassettes.

Shimano XT FD-M8020 Side Swing front derailleur

The XT 11-speed FD-M8020 front derailleur utilises a completely new derailleur system: Side-Swing technology delivers significantly better shifting performance. Designed specifically with modern trail bikes in mind, the Side-Swing derailleur offers 15mm more clearance between the seat tube and tyre, whilst the completely new and optimised cable routing and control drastically reduce the effort required for shifting.

Shimano XT FD-M8020 Front Pull derailleur:

These front-pull derailleurs are only compatible with frames designed for them. The shift cable is routed from the front and the outer cable housing is routed all the way to the derailleur. A classic shift cable routing from above or below is not possible with these derailleurs.

Shimano XT Low Clamp Derailleur:

The seat tube clamp is mounted approximately 6 cm above the centre of the bottom bracket. The inner diameter of the clamp is 34.9 mm; reducer sleeves for 31.8 mm and 28.6 mm are included in the scope of delivery.

Shimano XT FD-M8020 Front Derailleur Compatibility:

The new Shimano 11-speed XT front derailleur series is only compatible with the 11-speed MTB rear derailleurs and shift levers from the Shimano MTB series. The HG-701 chain is recommended. The 11-speed XT cassettes are also compatible with 9-10-speed Shimano HG10 freehub bodies.
