Cane Creek Hellbender 70 Slam headset

The Cane Creek Hellbender 70 IS41 headset top cup is designed for frames with a 41 mm steerer tube diameter at the top and forks with a 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm steerer tube diameter at the top.

The Series 70 allows the handlebars to be mounted really low = Slam, without compromising on perfect preload. With the Hellbender Series 70, Cane Creek has also closed the gap between the Series 40 and Series 110. The Hellbender features all the design characteristics, sealing elements and bearings found in the premium Series 110, at an unbeatable price. Available in a wide range of configurations, as upper and lower cups or as a complete headset for virtually any fork and head tube configuration.

IS41/28.6 top thread:

The IS headset is inserted into the top of the head tube; the installation dimension in the frame is 41 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm at the top.

IS/Integrated Standard – fully integrated headset:

Headset assemblies designated IS / Integrated Standard are also referred to as fully integrated headsets. These headsets require a frame designed for this purpose, featuring a raceway for the bearings. ‘Integrated Standard’ refers to the fact that the bearings are inserted into the head tube without bearing cups, whilst, for example, ‘IS44’ denotes the installation dimension, the outer diameter of the bearings and the inner diameter of the bearings within the frame. These headsets do not require any special tools; the frame is already prepared for them.
