Cane Creek Visco Technology:
With the introduction of Visco technology, Cane Creek builds on its enduring legacy of innovation in bicycle headsets and brings a new patented steering stabilisation system to the market. Developed to reduce high-frequency vibrations that occur on poor road surfaces or heavily loaded bikes, known as speed-induced vibrations. This is achieved using simple metal plates with fluorocarbon gel. The gel is sandwiched between the metal plates and dampens vibrations in the headset area. To adjust the damping force, the headset can be opened and the orientation of the metal plates adjusted or the plates replaced. Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
Cane Creek bearings:
Equipped with high-quality stainless steel cartridge bearings, designed to protect all components from dirt and corrosion through multiple seals. This not only maximises service life but also minimises maintenance intervals. The prerequisites for a worry-free and unobtrusive headset.
ZS56/40 bottom thread:
The ZS headset is pressed into the head tube from below; the press-fit dimension in the frame is 56 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1.5 inches at the bottom. The headset cone requires a 40 mm seat on the fork.
ZS/Zero Stack – semi-integrated headset:
Headset sets designated ZS / Zero Stack are also referred to as semi-integrated headset sets. They require a frame designed for this purpose with an exact match for the bearing cups. Zero Stack refers to the minimal protrusion of the bearing cups from the head tube, whilst ZS44, for example, denotes the installation dimension, the outer diameter of the bearing cup and the inner diameter of the bearing cups within the frame. The headsets can usually be fitted without special tools; the frame simply needs to be cleanly pre-milled.
