Chris King Super Boost 12x157 Centerlock MTB rear hub
The Chris King MTB rear hub in the Super Boost Centerlock version, available with either HG10, Sram XD or Shimano Microspline freehub bodies.
Superb, very light and absolutely durable. Chris King hubs have a reputation for being indestructible, and rightly so. The Boost Centre Lock rear hubs use one-piece solid axles to provide one of the stiffest platforms available, improving your power transfer and putting every single watt into the ground. To keep mud and water out of the hubs, they feature heavy-duty bearing seals and retaining rings that offer excellent protection with extremely low resistance – a rolling dream for everyone.

Chris King RingDrive
The patented Chris King RingDrive freehub technology, with 72 teeth – meaning 72 simultaneous engagement points – transfers power to the ground quickly with unrivalled efficiency. It is the sheer number of teeth that creates the legendary Chris King ‘angry bee’ sound. The Chris King freehub also engages three times faster than conventional hubs with 24 teeth and pawls.
Chris King Hub Quality
The quality of Chris King components is unique. High-precision manufacturing, the sort usually only found in the medical sector. Chris King hubs have a reputation for being indestructible, and rightly so. The hub bodies are superbly crafted and, thanks to the maximum flange spacing, allow for the construction of particularly laterally stiff wheels. Rounded off by the high-precision CNC-machined hub body with anodised coating and the multi-sealed industrial bearings. Superb, very light, extremely durable – manufactured by Chris King directly in Oregon, USA.
Chris King stainless steel bearings
Chris King stainless steel bearings are manufactured in Oregon, USA, and each bearing is inspected and assembled by hand. Unlike conventional radial bearings, Chris King builds sealed angular contact ball bearings that self-adjust during use rather than wearing out; like a fine wine or a high-quality guitar, the bearings improve with age. All bearings can be serviced without special tools; simply remove the retaining ring and seal, clean and re-lubricate – for lifelong reliability!
