Classified Powershift Hub Gear
The 9-spline gearbox for frames with a 12x148 mm mounting width and a mount for belt drives or single-speed sprockets.
The gearbox in Classified’s Powershift hub shifts between a standard 1:1 ratio and a 0.7:1 reduction ratio. Designed for drivetrains with a single chainring, the gear ratio range is then similar to that of a double chainring setup.
A 1x drivetrain with a 52-tooth chainring thus offers the gear range of a 52-36 double crankset; a 1x drivetrain with a 50-tooth chainring corresponds to a 50-35 range, one with a 48-tooth chainring corresponds to a 48-34 range, and so on...

Classified Powershift 9-spline hub:
9-spline: Gates belt drives or single-speed sprockets require a special hub connection to securely attach the rear sprocket. Choose a 9-spline hub only if: you are using a belt drive or a single-speed chainring with a chain (e.g. Gates Carbon Drive). The hub comes with the necessary spacers to achieve the correct chain or belt line. Classified does not sell single-speed or belt chainrings. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Classified Powershift technology offers a technical alternative to classic 2-speed drivetrains with a front derailleur. By integrating a wireless 2-speed shifting mechanism directly into the rear hub, the function of a front derailleur is completely replaced. Gear changes occur with virtually no delay and are possible at any time, even under heavy load and on varied terrain. The absence of a front derailleur significantly reduces aerodynamic drag. At the same time, the constant chainline eliminates cross-chaining, leading to a measurable increase in efficiency and reduced wear. The use of larger chainrings eliminates the need for small gear ratios, which has a positive effect on durability, power transmission and system efficiency.
The (separately available) thru-axle features a rechargeable battery and, thanks to Bluetooth technology, enables lightning-fast gear changes of under 150 milliseconds. Two different shifters are available for flat and drop bars. The Powershift hub features a special cassette mount. Standard third-party cassettes are not compatible. A wide selection of compatible Classified cassettes enables gear ratios of up to 583%. Hub bodies are available in versions for straight-pull and J-bend spokes.
Compatibility:
No modifications to the frame or dropouts are required to install the Powershift system.
The Powershift hub is compatible with all standard 11-, 12- and 13-speed shifting systems from SRAM, Shimano and Campagnolo. For Shimano Di2 12-speed shifting systems, full integration is possible, allowing the Powershift hub to be shifted using standard shift-brake levers. When selecting the Classified cassette, the maximum sprocket capacity of the rear derailleur must be taken into account.
A particular highlight: when the Powershift hub is combined with TRP’s VISTAR groupset, the QuantumShift system enables simplified shifting for improved concentration. QuantumShift utilises the rear derailleur, 12-speed cassette and Powershift hub to create 16 unique gears (15 for gravel), all controlled with a single hand on the shifter.
