The support rings for the current version of the Speedhub 500/14 hub gear system, to be fitted to the spoke flange before the rear wheel is laced, or after changing the rim or re-lacing the hub. The rings prevent the spokes from being torn out in the event of a flange break. Particularly suitable for extreme use on tandem touring bikes.In the current series, the Speedhub hub flanges have been modified, meaning a distinction must be made between two different versions. The ‘Made in Germany’ lettering on the Speedhub housing serves as a distinguishing feature to indicate which flange rings must be used.‘Made in Germany’ – underlined = Item No. 8524 = 1 x small ring, 1 x large ring, with groove for the cap side,‘Made in Germany’ – notunderlined= Item No. 8523 = 2 x small ringsRed powder-coated hubs are not compatible with the support ring!
