The Crank Brothers Mallet DH pedals feature large openings, thereby reducing weight and the surface area for dirt and grime. The grip on this pedal is excellent even without being clipped in; the pedal body is flatter in the middle, causing it to almost claw onto your foot. The clearance around the clip mechanism is generous, so mud and slush have no chance of getting stuck.
