DT Swiss EX 1700 Classic - ALL FUN, NO FUSS:
The new EX 1700 Gravity MTB wheels, featuring the classic 350 DEG hubs and J-bend lacing.
If you’re all about having fun and not always sticking to the planned lines, the EX 1700 CLASSIC is ready for wild rides. The 350 DEG DF almost completely eliminates pedal kickback and dampens noise from the terrain. Asymmetrical aluminium rims are laced with DT Competition Race spokes, 28 at the front and a robust 32 at the rear. For enduro riders aiming for the podium, the EX 1700 CLASSIC puts fun first, with no frills, and is ready for wild rides.
Enduro wheelsets feature the reliable 350 DEG hub with 72 teeth. It incorporates the latest DEG DF technology, an anti-pedal kickback system fully integrated into the wheel. And the best part? It can be adjusted without tools, requires little maintenance and adds no extra weight. It is a radically simplified system that ensures pedal kickback doesn’t spoil your fun on the trail.
DT Swiss EX 1700 Classic DEG Hubs:
Based on the DT Swiss 350 DEG Classic hub series, the lacing with J-bend spokes offers maximum durability. The new design of the 350 hub features the familiar DEG freehub and is characterised by a larger hub body, which better absorbs high braking and drive torques, resulting in a longer service life. With the optimised hub body, specifically designed for high torque and extreme braking forces, and the reinforced flange, DT Swiss provides the perfect foundation for extremely stable gravity, e-bike, trail, enduro and DH wheelsets.
Boost standard:
The thru-axle standard requires new hubs. The wider hub shell with the flanges positioned further out allows for wheels with greater lateral stiffness. On Boost hubs, the brake disc mount is also positioned further out. Therefore, these hubs cannot be fitted to frames with the narrower mounting dimensions.
DT Swiss EX 1700 Classic rims:
Built for tough e-bike, freeride and enduro use, the DT Swiss EX 1700 rims, with a width of 30 mm and the new asymmetrical design, offer maximum stability; the rim bed is further reinforced to easily absorb high drive forces. With a 30 mm rim width, tyres ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 inches in width can be fitted.
Hooked / Crotchet tubeless TC:
‘Hooked’ or ‘Crotchet’ refers to the shape of the rim flange, which features a so-called hook. This supports the tyre bead and ensures reliable performance, even when using high tyre pressure (> 5 bar). ‘Tubeless’ means that the rim can be ridden without an inner tube, although a setup with an inner tube is also possible.
DT Swiss J-Bend Competition Race spokes:
To reduce weight, the DT Competition Race spoke features a particularly thin mid-section without compromising on stiffness or durability. Each individual spoke is hand-built with the hubs and rims – using flat aluminium hex nipples to prevent the rim tape from being pierced and to enable an even more robust wheelset.
