DT Swiss 240 DEG Disc Hub Wheel Set with EXC 330 Rims

The high-end Grafity, freeride, enduro and trail wheelset featuring the new DT Swiss 240 DEG hubs from the Three Decades series and the high-end Grafity carbon rims – DT Swiss EXC 330 rims with a 30 mm rim width, approved for a system weight of 140 kg yet still lightweight.

The DT Swiss 240 DEG hubs offer maximum durability and reliability. Thanks to the larger 90-tooth ratchet discs, the DEG hubs provide uncompromising propulsion. The Ratchet DEG system is based on a similar principle to the classic ratchet system – with the difference that all components have an optimised size thanks to the 90-tooth ratchet disc. The DEG freehub bodies are only available in Sram XD and Microspline versions.

Wheel building at TNC-Hamburg:

We manufacture these wheels entirely by hand for you. Thanks to more than 30 years of experience in wheel building, we extract the optimum in concentricity, durability and stiffness from the material. These wheels are, of course, trued multiple times; we also pre-tension the spokes in both the radial and lateral directions. This eliminates the need for re-centring over a long period of time. We use DT Swiss spokes exclusively. These ensure outstanding durability of the wheelsets. For DH and Enduro use, we recommend brass nipples.

These wheels are custom-made for you, so we cannot offer a right of return for them. Please feel free to enquire about other wheel configurations. We will then send you a quote.

DT Swiss 240 DEG hub:

The patent-pending Ratchet DEG system is based on a different approach to conventional freewheel systems. It operates with a smaller engagement angle, thereby offering the greatest possible reliability. The innovative design of the Ratchet DEG hub allows the bearing to be replaced without special tools. The threaded ring does not need to be removed. The steel DEG pawls are larger than on any previous DT Swiss models. They are designed to make it easier even for the strongest riders to transfer power over the long term and across a large contact area. The simultaneous engagement of the sprockets results in a larger contact area than with ratchet hubs – and thus a more even distribution of the load. The two enlarged sprockets have 90 teeth. With just 4, they therefore offer the smallest engagement angle of any hub in the DT Swiss range. On the trail, this leads to reduced backlash. The Ratchet DEG freehub body has a larger diameter at the ratchet interface. This means it fits perfectly with the size-optimised DEG ring. Furthermore, it is therefore only compatible with hubs equipped with the Ratchet DEG system. The seal is located on the freehub.

The EXC 330 is your ally in all situations, even the unplanned ones. Our new process for maximum carbon compression sets completely new standards in terms of durability. A patent-pending technique for layer-by-layer quality control reduces irregularities to a minimum – right from the start. With these rims, nothing stands in the way of your success.

DT Swiss Pure Carbon Technology:

A revolutionary rim manufacturing process and non-destructive layer-by-layer testing of every product ensure rims that are both lightweight and robust, delivering long-lasting riding pleasure. Traditionally, the individual components of a carbon rim are manufactured separately within the industry. Irregularities can occur when the components are assembled. With the PURE Carbon method, DT Swiss is able to manufacture highly robust rims that are extremely impact-resistant. The fibres of the outer layer are not cut and therefore form continuous units in high-stress areas. The result: a significantly more uniform structure with minimal defects.

The patent-pending outer carbon layer ensures an unrivalled high-quality finish to the rim surface, meaning the rim is ready for use immediately upon removal from the mould. The result is a structurally optimised composition free from air pockets and resin build-up, which not only improves the rim’s reliability but also ensures an elegant design.

Thanks to a patented process, a unique surface is achieved, eliminating the need for final coatings and resulting in weight savings. To ensure that our rims are 100% ready for immediate use, each rim is inspected through all layers using a technology for which a patent application has been filed. Thanks to this completely new method, all rims that are not 100% flawless are rejected, and only rims without any material defects are approved.

DT Swiss Carbon Shield Technology:

Wheelsets subjected to particularly high stresses are protected by carbon layers surrounding the entire rim; this reinforces the rim flange in particular through long, uninterrupted fibre strands.

The resulting protection against impacts and higher stresses prevents structural weakening between the carbon layers, ensuring carefree riding pleasure even on challenging routes.

The number of carbon layers added increases in line with the expected load in the various areas of use.

DT Competition spokes:

The double cold-forged spoke made of rust-proof 18/10 chrome-nickel steel with a tapered middle section for robust, lightweight wheels. We recommend these spokes for virtually all wheels. Extremely durable and sufficiently lightweight, DT Competition spokes enable wheel building of the highest standard. Thanks to the tapered middle section, the spokes absorb movements in the wheel exceptionally well, without compromising on lateral stiffness and durability. Weight with nipple approx. 7 grams

DT Swiss Aero Comp spokes:

Designed for stable, laterally stiff yet aerodynamic wheelsets, the DT Swiss Aero Comp spoke in the straight-pull version is first cold-forged in the middle section, making it lighter and stronger. In a further complex process, it is flat-forged to optimise aerodynamic properties whilst simultaneously increasing material strength. The DT Aero Comp guarantees a balanced combination of stiffness, aerodynamics and durability.

DT Swiss Aero Lite spokes:

The DT Swiss Aerolite spoke is flatter and lighter than any other; the DT Swiss Aerolite spoke features an aerodynamic flat profile and is extremely lightweight. Thanks to the 0.9 x 2.3 mm aerodynamic mid-section, this spoke can be fitted to all standard hubs. The Cold Forging Technology (CFT) developed by DT Swiss makes the reduced and forged DT Aerolite the lightest stainless steel spoke and gives it excellent mechanical properties. Particularly suitable for super-light and fast road or cross-country wheelsets. 64 DT Aerolite spokes weigh an incredible 278 g at a length of 264 mm. Weight per spoke at 264 mm length: 4.31 grams

DT Swiss Revolite spokes:

The DT Revolite is the ideal choice for riders looking for a spoke that combines durability, low weight and aerodynamics. With a 2.3 x 1.3 mm cross-section in the middle section of the spokes, these offer excellent aerodynamics. Through several rounds of development, their innovative shape has been optimised to outperform all other DT Swiss MTB spokes in their weight class in terms of durability. This has been achieved through the unique blading process, which achieves additional densification of the material, and a patent-pending process that ensures a uniform transition from the tapered to the forged section of the spoke. Weighing just approx. 4.5 grams at a length of 264 mm per spoke, the Revolite is also exceptionally light.

DT Squorx spoke nipples:

The DT Swiss Squorx Pro Head nipple combines ease of installation with light weight thanks to the DT Pro Head shape, combined with an additional Torx and square tool socket. The Torx socket provides a larger contact area during wheel building, ensuring that the force from the tool is better distributed across the nipple. The spherical contact area within the rim guarantees perfect alignment with the spoke.
