Mavic Crossmax wheelset
The affordable and sturdy Mavic Crossmax MTB wheelsets, significantly lighter at just 1680 grams for the set, featuring the super-robust Infinity hubs and new lightweight asymmetrical rims with a 25 mm rim width.
The extra-reinforced tubeless-ready rims, featuring a hookless design, make fitting tubeless tyres easier. The tubeless-ready Mavic Crossmax wheels, the sturdy cross-country, all-mountain and trail wheels, are recommended for tyre widths from 2.0 to 2.5.
One of the top features is Mavic’s UST technology, which enables a particularly user-friendly set-up with tubeless-ready tyres and offers all their benefits: from better traction and control to smoother rolling and a lower risk of punctures. To achieve this, Mavic uses a hookless rim profile with a 25 mm internal width, ideal for the latest XC tyres on the market. The wheel is built with 24 straight spokes on each side to save weight whilst maximising stability. Ultimately, this delivers the perfect balance of efficiency and durability. Power transfer is handled by our new Instant Drive 360 freehub, which is compatible with all standard axle standards.
Mavic Crossmax Infinity Disc hubs:
The proven Mavic QRM auto industrial bearings are used in the Infinity hubs. The widened bearing spacing ensures torsional stiffness of the hub, whilst the new spoke mounting ensures effective power transmission. Equipped with the Instant Drive sprocket freehub body and the ORM Auto axle system. The self-aligning bearing system of the rear hub, QRM Auto, works in conjunction with the sprocket freehub to ensure maintenance-free operation over a long period.
Mavic Instant Drive 360 freewheel body
The Instant Drive 360 freehub system is super-light and ensures rapid engagement with a mere 9-degree engagement angle. A large, contact-free rubber seal reduces friction. And a wide selection of axle stubs ensures compatibility with many mounting standards. The oversized aluminium axle and the hardened aluminium freehub body save 40 g. Two pawls ensure fast and efficient power transfer. A radial seal guarantees low friction at high speeds and perfect water resistance. This freehub body is easy to convert and is available as an HG10 version for Shimano 8-11-speed / SRAM 8-10-speed, SRAM XD 11- and 12-speed, and Shimano 12-speed Micro Spline
Mavic Crossmax Tubeless Ready rims:
The new Crossmax rims are now even more rigid thanks to a welded rim joint. Manufactured with the Hookless profile, these rigid aluminium tubeless-ready rims are hardened using the H2 Hammer Hardening process and designed for tyres up to 2.5” wide. The tubeless rim tape is pre-fitted. Hammer Hardening. The special cold hardening process in the critical spoke hole area effectively prevents the formation of micro-cracks and significantly extends the rims’ service life.
Mavic Crossmax spokes
High-tensile spokes, twist-proof thanks to the Mavic Self Lock System. The special shape of the spoke thread acts as a twist lock. The spoke remains firmly screwed into the spoke nipple and loses no tension whatsoever. This ensures the wheel remains perfectly centred at all times.
The Mavic Crossmax Boost front hubsfeature a 15x110 mm thru-axle mount. These Boost front wheels are only compatible with Boost forks featuring a 15x110 mm thru-axle and cannot be converted.
