Avid - Sram Post Mount 20 Adapter

The Avid adapters for mounting front brakes with 180 mm brake discs on forks and frames with Post Mount 6 disc brake mounts.

The new adapters are compatible with Avid’s CPS and standard brake calipers. The CPS brake calipers are fitted with the conical washers, whilst the new standard brake calipers are fitted with the new standard washers.

Included in the scope of delivery: Post Mount spacers 17.5 mm, 12.5 mm and 7.5 mm, for 160 mm rear, 180 mm front; stainless steel bolts, 43 mm, 38 mm, 37 mm and 32 mm, with washers and half-round washers

This adapter is also used to fit rear brakes with 160 mm discs on frames with a Post Mount 5 mount.

And for mounting rear brakes for 180 mm discs on frames with Post Mount 6 mounts.

And for mounting rear brakes for 200 mm discs on frames with Post Mount 7 mounts

Compatible with all Avid disc brakes.

All Avid brake calipers comply with the Post Mount 6 standard. Using adapters, the brakes can then be adapted to the international standard or other mount types, and the correct distance to the hub is ensured when using larger brake discs, such as 180 and 200 mm discs.

The advantage of this system, which is also used by Hayes and in the newer Shimano disc brakes, is that no shims are required to align the brake caliper, as the Post Mount standard allows for lateral adjustment of the brake calipers.
