Shimano XTR XC M9100 Disc Brake
The high-end XTR XC and All Mountain disc brakes are very light and responsive, featuring ceramic pistons and titanium hardware.
Featuring 2-piston calipers, a new I-Spec EV clamp and a new lever body. The clamp moves further towards the centre of the lever and is angled. This cleverly allows the outer end of the reservoir to rest directly on the handlebar, creating an additional support point when the lever is actuated. This significantly increases stiffness and stability, ultimately leading to an even more direct braking feel and improved controllability. The BR-M9100 two-piston brake realises its full potential when paired with the BL-M9100 brake lever. The brake calipers feature a one-piece aluminium design and are combined with highly rigid brake lines, enabling the new XTR brake systems to deliver significantly faster response and reduced free travel.

Scope of delivery for Shimano XTR XC brake:
Rear disc brake BL M9100 - BR M9100, right-hand lever, 170 cm hose SM-BH90-SBM, without brake discs and adapters
Shimano XTR BL - M9100 brake lever:
The Shimano XTR Disc Brake Lever BL M9100, featuring a lightweight carbon lever, is equipped with a cylindrical reservoir and the new lever guide for significantly more ergonomic handling. Thanks to ServoWave, it offers 30 per cent faster response and, due to design changes, 10 per cent more braking power. The I-Spec EV mount for direct mounting of the Shimano 12-speed MTB shift levers ensures a tidy cockpit.
Shimano XTR BR - M9100 brake caliper:
The monoblock calipers of the new XTR 2-piston disc brake are made of aluminium and always feature a post-mount caliper with an adapter suited to the disc size and fork. The one-piece caliper is extremely torsion-resistant and approved for brake discs up to 203 mm. Equipped with brake pads on titanium/aluminium plates with external cooling fins, brake heat is reliably dissipated.
Shimano I-Spec EV Mounting:
The new I-Spec EV system offers a wider adjustment range with 14 mm lateral movement and 60 degrees of rotation. The I-Spec EV mount is not compatible with older I-Spec Type A, Type B or Type II mounts.
The Shimano XTR BRM9100 brake caliper features the Post Mount 6 standard.
IS 2000: Side-mounted. An adapter is always required to fit the brake; maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM5: Direct mounting of the brake without an adapter, using 140 mm brake discs. Maximum 180 mm, minimum 140 mm disc size. Currently found only on rear stays of frames
Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the brake with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 220 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Currently the most common standard on forks, and on some rear triangle frames.
Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting of the brake with 180mm discs without an adapter. Maximum 220mm, minimum 180mm disc size. 140mm and 160mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.
Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting of the brake without an adapter, using 203mm brake discs. Can only be used with 203mm and 220mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
