The 12-speed Ultegra cassettes, with their close-ratio gearing up to a 19-tooth sprocket, guarantee the perfect gear ratio at all times and are also perfectly suited to mountain riding.

Shimano relies on large chain wrap angles for its 12-speed drivetrains. This ensures highly efficient power transfer and smooth running. Naturally, this also improves the durability of the drivetrain. The tried-and-tested CNM8100 chains are used.

The Shimano Ultegra CSR8100 cassette, featuring two large sprocket blocks on an aluminium spider, offers Shimano’s outstanding smooth shifting performance combined with low weight and long-lasting durability. Shimano offers replacement sprockets for these cassettes. This means that if only a few are worn, they can be replaced cost-effectively.

The 12-speed cassettes are compatible with both the new HG12 and the previous HG11 freehub bodies. The new 12-speed freehub bodies feature finer teeth. This allows for a significantly better connection between the cassette and the freehub body.
