Shimano SLX FD-M7025E front derailleur, Down Swing, Down Pull, Low Direct – E-type mounting, 11x2-speed
Shimano SLX FD M7025E front derailleur
The new Shimano SLX 11-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring 1 or 2 chainrings and an 11-speed cassette with a 11-40 or 11-42 tooth range. One of the major advantages of the SLX 7000 series is the compatibility of the cassettes with conventional rear wheels. The 11-speed MTB cassettes can be fitted to all freehubs designed for 9- and 10-speed Shimano MTB cassettes. This eliminates the need for the time-consuming conversion of the wheel to a different freehub body.
Shimano SLX FD-M7025 front derailleur:
The SLX 11x2 front derailleurs FD-M8025, perfectly matched to the new 11-speed SLX components, offer excellent and fast shifting performance.
Shimano SLX FD-M7025 front derailleur compatibility:
The Shimano 11-speed SLX front derailleur series is only compatible with the 11-speed MTB rear derailleurs and shift levers from the SLX 7000, XT 8000 and XTR 9000 series. The HG-601 chain is recommended. The 11-speed Shimano MTB cassettes are also compatible with 9-10-speed Shimano-compatible freehub bodies.
E-Type S3 / Low Direct Mount derailleurs:
These derailleurs are mounted either directly onto frames designed for this purpose; the bolt spacing is 22.1 mm horizontally and, unlike the S2 derailleurs, features an offset at the mounting point. Sram refers to this mounting type as S3. The second mounting type is the Shimano E-Type. For this, the retaining plate, part no. Y5M550000, is also required. For both mounting types, the respective frame must be prepared by the manufacturer.
