Shimano XTR FDM 9000 front derailleur

The new Shimano XTR 11-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring 1–3 chainrings and an 11-speed cassette with an 11–40 tooth range.

The triple derailleurs in the XTR 9000 series feature the new front-pull cable linkage and are only compatible with frames designed for this system.

Shimano FD-M9000 front derailleur

The XTR 11-speed FD-M9000 front derailleurs utilise a completely new derailleur system: Side-Swing technology delivers 100 per cent better shifting performance. Designed specifically with modern trail bikes in mind, the Side-Swing derailleur offers 15mm more clearance between the seat tube and tyre, whilst the completely new and optimised cable routing and control drastically reduces the force required for shifting.

Shimano XTR FD-M9000 Side Pull derailleur:

These Side Pull derailleurs are only compatible with frames designed for them. The cable linkage is routed from the front and the cable housing runs through to the derailleur.

Shimano E-Type S3 Low Direct Mount:

These front derailleurs are mounted directly onto frames designed for this purpose; the bolt spacing is 22.1 mm with a 3 mm horizontal offset. Thanks to slotted holes, the XTR front derailleurs offer 10 mm of height adjustment to compensate for different chainring sizes. Furthermore, the E-Type front derailleurs can also be fitted to frames with S3 direct mount. The E-Type mounting plate is item no. Y5M908000

Shimano XTR 9000 front derailleur compatibility:

The new Shimano 11-speed XTR front derailleur series is only compatible with the XTR 11-speed RDM9000 rear derailleurs and SLM9000 shift levers. The HG-900 chain is recommended. The 11-speed XTR cassettes are also compatible with 9-10-speed Shimano-compatible freehub bodies.
