The design of the rear derailleur with a medium-length pulley is compatible with the various chainring sizes across all three cassette options, ranging from 9-36 to 10-44, and is perfectly tailored to every gravel requirement. The 2D movement of the rear derailleur’s parallelogram was specifically designed for the EKAR 1x system, ensuring the derailleur precisely executes the mechanical shifting process to make optimal use of the 13 gears. The pulleys with varying tooth counts guarantee optimal operation and stable chain guidance, ensuring safety and smooth running, no matter what terrain you’re on. The damping clutch on the rear derailleur ensures safe and reliable chain guidance and minimal operating noise; the clutch system can also be locked in the rear position for easy removal of the rear wheel. The Ekar rear derailleur alone contains more than 70 carefully designed and engineered individual components. Carbon fibre-reinforced polyamide and 7075 and 6082 anodised aluminium alloys are combined in the Ekar rear derailleur body and cage to achieve the best combination of strength, durability and lightness, ensuring reliable operation and excellent resistance to impacts, sand and dirt of gravel terrain, whilst the screws are made from stainless steel to ensure long-term strength and durability under the most challenging conditions.
