SRAM Apex 1 Rear Derailleur

The SRAM Apex® 1 rear derailleur offers the gear range and ease of use that will take you anywhere. The Apex 1 rear derailleur translates your shifting intentions into clean, direct gear changes, thanks to SRAM’s X-Horizon™ technology and the Roller Bearing Clutch™. You simply pedal; Apex gets you to your destination.

SRAM Cage Lock technology:

Thanks to CAGE LOCK™ technology in the rear derailleur, removing and fitting the rear wheel, as well as chain installation, are quicker and easier than ever. Simply slide the cage forward to release the chain tension and lock it in place.

The Apex 1 series long cage rear derailleur is compatible with cassettes up to 42 teeth.

The rear derailleur for the SRAM Apex 1 groupset. With its horizontal parallelogram design and offset upper pulley, X-HORIZON technology ensures a constant chainline across all 11 gears, delivering fast, precise shifting. Roller Bearing Clutch technology reduces chain slap. SRAM Cage Lock technology makes wheel changes easier despite the derailleur’s high spring tension.

SRAM Exact Actuation technology:

SRAM relies on Exact Actuation technology with a 1:1 cable-to-gear ratio. This has two significant advantages. Shifting accuracy is very high, and all SRAM rear derailleurs featuring this technology are compatible with all shift levers using Exact Actuation technology, including MTB rear derailleurs with road bike shift levers and vice versa. This means, for example, that 9-speed shift levers can be combined with 11-speed rear derailleurs.
