Sram Red XPLR AXS 13-speed:
Gravel demands just about everything from your bike, and the RED XPLR AXS rear derailleur handles it all with ease. When faced with sticks, stones and airport luggage, the full-mount rear derailleur for frames with a UDH interface is the most robust and reliable gravel drivetrain available. With no adjustment screws, setting it up is easier than ever. And with the Magic Wheel, you’re prepared for any surprises, as the durable lower pulley keeps the chain moving at all times. This 1x unit, developed specifically for gravel, focuses on precise shifting and chain management, whatever the terrain or conditions.
Sram Red XPLR AXS E1 rear derailleur:
The stresses on gravel bike rear derailleurs are significantly higher than on road bikes. Not only impacts from the ground, but also flying stones and sticks can easily damage the rear derailleur. That’s why, when developing the new RED XPLR rear derailleur, SRAM incorporated some technologies from the tried-and-tested Transmission mountain bike rear derailleurs. Thanks to the full-mount design for attachment to frames with UDH hanger, the rear derailleur is significantly more robust and durable than the previous version. The rear derailleur can automatically absorb hard impacts by briefly disengaging. Should a component become damaged, numerous parts can be replaced. The rear derailleur has been specifically designed and optimised for use with the RED XPLR 10-46-tooth cassette. With no need for adjustment screws, setting up the rear derailleur is easier than ever. Thanks to the spring-loaded clutch, inspired by mountain bike technology, the chain stays securely on the chainring even under the harshest vibrations. Another highlight is the lower Magic Wheel pulley, adopted from Transmission rear derailleurs. It keeps the chain moving, even if a stick blocks the pulley
UDH, Universal Derailleur Hanger, Interface:
UDH stands for Universal Derailleur Hanger and is a standard for derailleur hangers that unifies the multitude of existing standards. The aim of the UDH is to reduce the complexity of finding replacement derailleur hangers for bikes by using a standardised design. Sram UDH rear derailleurs are mounted directly onto the frame without a derailleur hanger. This guarantees maximum torsional stiffness and always ensures the perfect position relative to the cassette. Of course, it is essential that your frame has a UDH derailleur hanger or the UDH interface.
Sram Red AXS E1 shift/brake lever:
Braking with just one finger from the lever body or in the sprint position. 83 g lighter than the previous generation. AXS-compatible for easy setup, customisation and reliability. eTap shifting logic for intuitive shifting. Bonus button allows control of ANT+ devices or provides an additional shifting option. Optimised lever body shape for a wide range of hand sizes. Carbon brake levers for low weight. Textured shift paddles and grip rubbers for control and comfort. Bleeding Edge technology for easy and clean bleeding. Reach adjustment to personalise hand sizes. Pressure point adjustment for individual customisation
Flat Mount Standard:
The Flat Mount caliper standard for road bike brakes reduces weight and offers a significantly sleeker look. With the Flat Mount standard, the rear brake caliper sits directly on the chainstay for 140 mm disc sizes; an adapter for caliper mounting is only required for 160 mm discs. The bolts pass through the chainstay from below directly into the brake caliper. A flat adapter is still required on the fork. The adapter is screwed onto the rear of the fork leg, with the brake sitting directly on the adapter. By flipping the adapter over, the available brake disc size can be changed between 140 and 160 mm. To use a 160 mm disc on the rear wheel/frame, an adapter is required (Part No. 00.5318.018.001).
Sram XG1391 CS-XG-1290-E1 cassette:
The Red AXS XG 1391 Powerdome offers the widest gear range of any gravel cassette. Perfectly matched to the SRAM AXS 13-speed drivetrain and chain, the cassettes deliver outstanding shifting performance thanks to improved shifters. They are extremely lightweight, silent and offer a clear performance advantage. The middle sprockets are machined from a single block of high-quality tool steel. They offer greater stiffness whilst weighing less than a titanium cassette.
Sram PC Red E1 Chain, CN-RED-E1:
Perfectly matched for use with SRAM AXS components, the SRAM Red chain. The flat-top design of the links has made it possible to make the chain narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer links and the sprockets ensures smoother chain movement and even more precise shifting. As a positive side effect, the chain’s service life is also extended. This is further ensured by a chrome coating on the inner sides of the links and the rollers.
SRAM PowerLock:
SRAM’s chain engineers have developed PowerLock® as a tool-free, secure and consistent method for connecting SRAM chains. Although no special tools are required for installation with PowerLock®, given the tight tolerance range of 10-, 11-, 12- and 13-speed drivetrains, each PowerLock can only be used once.
SRAM Flattop
Compatible with SRAM 12- and 13-speed cassettes. Flattop technology ensures a narrower and lighter chain and enables quieter operation as well as greater strength and durability.
SRAM AXS eTap batteries:
Batteries are used on the rear derailleur and front derailleur. These batteries are interchangeable. So, for example, if the rear derailleur runs out of power halfway through a ride, you can shift to your preferred chainring at the front, swap the two batteries and then continue riding without worry. The batteries have a capacity of approximately 1,000 kilometres or 60 hours of riding time. The charging time for a battery is around 45 minutes. In addition, all components of the SRAM Red eTap groupset are equipped with LED indicators. Green means the battery is fully charged, and red indicates that there is still sufficient capacity remaining. Only when the LED starts flashing red does the charge level approach the end, leaving around 5 per cent capacity remaining.
SRAM AXS technology
AXS is the electronic integration platform that connects SRAM’s electronic bike components and software. The AXS components communicate wirelessly using 128-bit encryption. Each time a groupset comprising, for example, shift levers, a front derailleur and a rear derailleur is paired, a unique code is generated to prevent interference with other riders. The SRAM AXS app allows you to view the battery status, adjust component settings, customise controllers, receive maintenance reminders and update the firmware.
