Cane Creek Hellbender 70 Headset

The Cane Creek Hellbender 70 ZS44 headset crown and ZS56 bottom cup are designed for frames with an installation dimension of 44 mm at the top and 56 mm at the bottom of the head tube, and forks with a steerer tube diameter of 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm at the top and 1.5 inches / 40 mm at the bottom.

With the Hellbender Series 70, Cane Creek has closed the gap between the Series 40 and Series 110. The Hellbender features all the design characteristics, sealing elements and bearings found in the premium Series 110, at an unbeatable price. Available in a wide range of configurations, as upper and lower cups or as a complete headset for almost any fork and head tube configuration.

ZS44/28.6 top thread:

The ZS headset is pressed into the top of the head tube; the press-fit dimension in the frame is 44 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm at the top.

ZS56/40 Bottom installation dimension:

The ZS headset is pressed into the head tube at the bottom; the press-fit dimension in the frame is 56 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1.5 inches at the bottom. The headset cone requires a 40 mm seat on the fork at the bottom.

ZS/Zero Stack – semi-integrated headset:

Headset sets designated ZS / Zero Stack are also referred to as semi-integrated headsets. They require a frame designed for this purpose with an exact match for the bearing cups. Zero Stack refers to the minimal protrusion of the bearing cups from the head tube, whilst ZS44, for example, refers to the installation dimensions: the outer diameter of the bearing cups and the inner diameter of the bearing cups within the frame. The headsets can usually be fitted without special tools; the frame simply needs to be cleanly pre-milled.
