The SUPERNOVA MINI 2 PRO offers exceptional compactness combined with impressive performance figures. It even features a phenomenal high beam of 550 lumens and 160 lux. This ensures that even the densest undergrowth is brightly lit during a night ride. The low beam mode, with 235 lumens and 100 lux, also provides ample visibility without dazzling oncoming traffic.
MonkeyLink
MonkeyLink is a revolutionary new connection standard for mechanical and electrical accessories on e-bikes.
MonkeyLink establishes the connection between the bike and the accessory almost automatically – magnetically, quickly, easily and intuitively. Lighting components on the e-bike are powered by the battery and can be controlled via the display. This means the light can be fitted in no time at all, without having to plug in a cable. This makes retrofitting and converting lighting on MonkeyLink-ready bikes a breeze.
Terralux 4 Lens
The TERRAFLUX lens was a milestone in Supernova’s development and is now in its 4th generation. Hardly any other lens of this size produces such bright and even illumination. Thanks to sophisticated light guidance, the TERRAFLUX lens directs 90 per cent of the light where it is most urgently needed: onto the road. There, it creates a wide and even carpet of light that extends from the front wheel far into the horizon. The permanent daytime running light integrated into the lens ensures excellent visibility of the rider in traffic during the day. At night, this light is used to provide superb illumination of the surroundings, making road signs and low-hanging branches clearly visible.
Supernova High Beam:
Supernova is the first manufacturer to launch an approved high beam for bicycles. Since the new legislation came into force, high beams have been among the most important innovations in the bicycle lighting industry. In addition to its literal range, high beam provides enormous illumination and increases safety many times over. For the first time, an approved bicycle light offers illumination for difficult-to-navigate terrain, where the cyclist can spot overhanging branches, signs, junctions and pedestrians who are hard to see much more quickly – no matter how steep or winding the trail! Our Supernova high beam has an extremely wide beam angle. This ensures excellent peripheral vision, which in turn makes the other advantages described below possible.
Supernova uses a special high beam with an extra-wide beam angle, which provides improved illumination particularly above the main beam, meaning signs and, for example, overhanging branches are illuminated much better. This also improves cornering illumination immensely! With standard headlights that only have a dipped-beam function, the dipped beam tilts to the side when cornering, meaning that a significant part of the bend is no longer illuminated. The greatly increased luminosity of the Supernova high beam, on the other hand, shines far beyond the glare horizon and illuminates deep into the bend. This results in vastly improved illumination of the road when cornering and thus a huge gain in safety for the cyclist.
Aluminium housing
We use aerospace-grade aluminium for our housings because it is not only extremely sturdy but also has excellent thermal conductivity. The better the cooling, the brighter the LED. Cooling fins on the housings increase the surface area, allowing heat to be dissipated more effectively. Furthermore, the housings are salt-water-resistant anodised and can withstand the harshest conditions. Extreme tests in all seasons and climate zones by ultracycling athletes using Supernova lighting demonstrate its outstanding reliability and durability.
LED Cooling
Maximum performance with the best possible efficiency is our credo. The enormous brightness levels of our headlight systems can only be achieved through sophisticated cooling of the high-performance LEDs. Because: the better an LED is cooled, the brighter it shines. Good cooling also significantly extends the service life. Careful material selection and sophisticated design are among the most important prerequisites for ideal heat dissipation. Completely uninterrupted heat dissipation can, for example, only be achieved through a housing seamlessly manufactured from a single piece of aluminium. In extreme situations, an integrated heat sensor also ensures the spotlight always remains within the optimum temperature range. Through computationally intensive computer simulations, our engineers identify the most suitable method for dissipating heat from the LEDs at an early stage.
