The Mini 3 headlight is Supernova’s latest development in the Mini series. Now featuring an integrated light sensor that switches fully automatically between daytime running lights and dipped beam.

Supernova Mini 3

The MINI 3 headlight redefines bicycle lighting – with a seamless transition between daytime running mode and low beam. Depending on the lighting conditions, the light sensor integrated into the lens switches fully automatically between the two modes without you having to take your hands off the handlebars. The distinctive and highly visible daytime running mode is your ideal companion during the bright hours of the day and offers you additional protection on your journeys. The MINI 3 headlight’s very compact dimensions fit perfectly into any e-bike cockpit. The high-quality aluminium housing also ensures superior cooling and a long service life.

Terralux 5 lens

TERRAFLUX 5 technology provides powerful yet eye-friendly illumination. The wide beam pattern offers excellent illumination – both in the near field and towards the sides and the horizon. An increased beam angle allows the light to cover the outer edges of the illuminated area even better, thereby illuminating bends more brightly. Thanks to the smooth transitions, however, the light is distributed very evenly and is gentle on the eyes.The improved performance across all areas compared to earlier TERRAFLUX models is achieved by 200 high-precision micro-optics. These form part of a main lens, which is integrated with further lenses into a multi-stage optical system. Only in this way can the light from the LED emitters be optimally distributed to the desired areas of use.

Aluminium housing

For our housings, we use aerospace-grade aluminium because it is not only extremely sturdy but also has excellent thermal conductivity. The better the cooling, the brighter the LED. Cooling fins on the housings increase the surface area, allowing heat to be dissipated more effectively. Furthermore, the housings are salt-water-resistant anodised and can withstand the harshest conditions. Extreme tests carried out in all seasons and climate zones by ultracycling athletes using Supernova lighting demonstrate its outstanding reliability and durability.

LED Cooling

Maximum performance with the best possible efficiency is our credo. The enormous brightness levels of our headlight systems can only be achieved through sophisticated cooling of the high-performance LEDs. Because: the better an LED is cooled, the brighter it shines. Good cooling also significantly extends the service life. Careful material selection and sophisticated design are among the most important prerequisites for ideal heat dissipation. Completely uninterrupted heat dissipation can, for example, only be achieved through a housing seamlessly manufactured from a single piece of aluminium. In extreme situations, an integrated heat sensor also ensures the spotlight always remains within the optimum temperature range. Through computationally intensive computer simulations, our engineers identify the most suitable method for dissipating heat from the LEDs at an early stage.
