Shimano XTR SM-SL98 I-Spec Adapter Kit Type A (right)
The I-Spec Adapter Kit (right) for mounting the shifter directly onto the brake lever for Shimano XTR SL-M980 shifters. This replaces the right-hand housing cap with the handlebar clamp, thereby enabling the XTR Rapidfire shifter to be mounted directly onto the I-Spec brake lever.

Information: Shimano I-Spec Mounting Type A:
Shimano refers to the direct mounting of shift levers onto brake levers as I-Spec. Type A of the I-Spec mounting allows installation on Shimano disc brakes up to the 2013 model year that are equipped with the I-Spec clamp. This mounting system ensures space-saving installation of the shift levers directly onto the brake lever clamp. Shimano changed the I-Spec mount to Type B for the 2014 system; you can recognise this by the addition of the letter B to the lever designation.
