Shimano XT M8010 Boost plus DT Swiss XM 401 wheelset
The wheelset for all-mountain use. The DT Swiss XM 401 rims for all-mountain use, combined with the robust Shimano XT Boost hubs, are very durable and low-maintenance. The Shimano M8010 hubs are designed for 12x110 and 12x148 mm Boost mounting dimensions. Despite the super-sturdy and wide DT Swiss rims, the wheelset weighs only approx. 1840 grams
Wheel building at TNC-Hamburg:
We hand-build these wheelsets exclusively for you. Thanks to over 30 years’ experience in wheel building, we extract the optimum in concentricity, durability and stiffness from the materials. These wheelsets are, of course, tested multiple times for truing, and we also pre-load the spokes in the longitudinal direction. This eliminates the need for re-truing over a long period of time.
These wheelsets are made to order specifically for you, which is why we cannot offer a right of return for them.
Shimano XT M8010 Boost hubs
New seals and axle provide reliable protection against contamination of the bearings. Equipped with a new 4-pawl freehub body for loss-free power transmission. The Centerlock mount allows for easy mounting of Shimano Centerlock brake discs. An adapter is available for 6-hole brake discs.
DT Swiss Competition spokes:
The double cold-forged spoke made from rust-resistant 18/10 chrome-nickel steel with a tapered middle section for robust, lightweight wheels. We recommend these spokes for virtually all wheelsets. Extremely durable and sufficiently lightweight, the DT Competition spokes enable wheel building of the highest standard. Thanks to the tapered mid-section, the spokes absorb movement in the wheel exceptionally well, without compromising on lateral stiffness or durability.
DT Swiss XM 401 Disc rim
The lightweight 27 mm wide 29-inch all-mountain rim from DT Swiss, the XM 401. Thanks to extensive FEM analyses, DT Swiss XM 401 rims feature material only where it is actually needed. These rims are supplied with special DT Squorx Pro Head nipples and must only be laced using these nipples. With the wide XM 401 rim, DT Swiss offers a rim for stable and lightweight all-mountain wheelsets. Cleanly finished, with a welded rim flange and stainless steel eyelets, the DT Swiss XM 401 strikes the perfect balance between low weight and high stability. Recommended for a combined rider and bike weight of up to 110 kg.
The DT Swiss XM 401 rims are equipped with rim flanges adapted for tubeless rim tape and can be easily upgraded to lightweight tubeless rims using DT Swiss tubeless rim tape
