WH-RS7000 wheelset
Built for competition, the Shimano WH-RS700 wheels, with their carbon/aluminium rims of varying heights, offer lightweight construction combined with very high strength. The aluminium braking surfaces guarantee excellent braking performance, whilst the carbon ensures low weight and very high strength.
Lightweight Shimano wheelset with rims made from a carbon-light alloy composite, featuring high-quality workmanship and a striking appearance. For this wheelset, Shimano employs a new technology for which a patent has been filed. This ensures a new level of maximum load-bearing capacity with minimal weight. The wide-set flanges and the asymmetry of the 23 mm high rim increase the strength of the rear wheel and guarantee maximum power transfer. Proven Shimano bearings with angled ball races and oversized axles made from 7075 aluminium combine excellent smoothness with high stability.
Shimano Carbon Aluminium Rims
The WHRS700 wheelsets feature different rim heights. The front rim, with a height of 24 mm, and the rear rim, with a height of 35 mm, offer optimum handling in all wind conditions. Shimano combines excellent braking performance and impact resistance with the low weight and strength of carbon. The result is lightweight and highly stable wheels. The tubeless rims can, of course, also be used with standard folding and clincher tyres. To do this, simply remove the valve.
Shimano OptBal lacing:
On the front wheel, 16 radial spokes ensure ideal roundness and direct steering response. On the rear wheel, 21 spokes are fitted in an OptBal 2:1 lacing pattern, which means twice as many spokes are used on the drive side as on the less-loaded left side. This is intended to provide permanently better stiffness and stability.
Shimano hubs:
You can rely on the very best Shimano quality for the hubs and freehub. Polished bearing rings reduce friction to a minimum. The Digital-Click System makes precise bearing adjustment quicker and easier. The freehub is compatible with Shimano 10-speed and 11-speed road bike groupsets. Cold-forged and milled aluminium hub bodies, along with oversized 7075 aluminium axles, reduce the wheel’s weight to under 1,800 g.
