Shimano Deore SLX FD M7100 front derailleur

The Shimano SLX 12x2-speed front derailleur for high-direct mounting and front-pull cable routing.

The affordable Shimano SLX 12-speed components, the simpler version featuring the technology of the XT and XTR series, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. The SLX components designated 7100 are designed for 1x12 and 1x12-speed drivetrains. The new Deore SLX M7100 series boasts a host of technical highlights, including Shimano’s groundbreaking 12-speed Micro Spline cassettes, available with a range of 10–45 or 10–51 teeth, 1x12 or 2x12-speed Hollowtech II cranksets, powerful two- and four-piston brakes, I-Spec EV shifters, 12-speed rear derailleurs and front derailleurs.

Shimano SLX FD-M7100 Side Swing front derailleur

The SLX 12-speed FD-M7100 front derailleur utilises Side-Swing technology. This delivers significantly better shifting performance. Designed specifically with modern trail bikes in mind, the Side-Swing derailleur offers 15mm more clearance between the seat tube and tyre, whilst the completely new and optimised cable routing and control drastically reduce the effort required to shift gears.

Shimano SLX FD-M7100 Front Pull Derailleur:

These front pull derailleurs are only compatible with frames designed for them. The shift cable is routed from the front and the outer cable housing is routed all the way to the derailleur. A classic shift cable routing from above or below is not possible with these derailleurs.

Shimano High Direct Mount Derailleur:

With the High Direct Mount, the derailleur is mounted directly onto frames designed for this purpose; the bolt spacing is 60 mm vertically. Thanks to the slotted holes, this derailleur can be adjusted for height.

Shimano 12x2-speed front derailleur compatibility:

The new Shimano 12-speed SLX front derailleur series is only compatible with the 12-speed shift levers from the Shimano MTB series. The CNM7100 chain is recommended.
