Supernova Starstream X Pro
The new STARSTREAM X PRO makes Supernova’s modular integration system available for external mounting for the first time, thanks to its highly compact lens technology. The flow-optimised cooling fins in the forged and CNC-machined aluminium housing significantly increase the surface area and ensure optimal cooling at a maximum output of 21 W and with extremely slim dimensions. The extremely homogeneous and particularly wide dipped beam illuminates the road surface completely and ensures an outstanding driving experience. The switchable main beam, with up to 1000 lumens, offers the best possible safety even at high speeds.
Supernova High Beam:
Supernova is the first manufacturer to launch an approved high beam for bicycles. Since the new legislation came into force, high beams have been among the most important innovations in the bicycle lighting industry. In addition to its literal range, high beam provides enormous illumination and increases safety many times over. For the first time, an approved bicycle light offers illumination for difficult-to-see terrain, where cyclists can spot overhanging branches, signs, junctions and pedestrians who are hard to see much more quickly – no matter how steep and winding the trail! Our Supernova high beam has an extremely wide beam angle. This ensures excellent peripheral vision, which in turn makes the other advantages described below possible.
Supernova uses a special high beam with an extra-wide beam angle, which provides improved illumination particularly above the main beam, meaning signs and, for example, overhanging branches are illuminated much better. This also improves cornering illumination immensely! With standard headlights that only have a dipped-beam function, the dipped beam tilts to the side when cornering, meaning that a significant part of the bend is no longer illuminated. The greatly increased luminosity of the Supernova high beam, on the other hand, shines far beyond the glare horizon and illuminates deep into the bend. This results in vastly improved illumination of the road when cornering and thus a huge gain in safety for the cyclist.
Aluminium housing
We use aerospace-grade aluminium for our housings because it is not only extremely sturdy but also has excellent thermal conductivity. The better the cooling, the brighter the LED. Cooling fins on the housings increase the surface area, allowing heat to be dissipated more effectively. Furthermore, the housings are salt-water-resistant anodised and can withstand the harshest conditions. Extreme tests in all seasons and climate zones by ultracycling athletes using Supernova lighting demonstrate its outstanding reliability and durability.
LED Cooling
Maximum performance with the best possible efficiency is our credo. The enormous brightness levels of our headlight systems can only be achieved through sophisticated cooling of the high-performance LEDs. Because: the better an LED is cooled, the brighter it shines. Service life is also significantly extended by good cooling. Careful material selection and sophisticated design are among the most important prerequisites for ideal heat dissipation. For example, completely uninterrupted heat dissipation can only be achieved through a housing seamlessly machined from a single piece of aluminium. In extreme situations, an integrated heat sensor also ensures the spotlight always remains within the optimum temperature range. Through computationally intensive computer simulations, our engineers identify the most suitable method for dissipating heat from the LEDs at an early stage.
