Shimano Deore XT RD M8100 rear derailleur

The new Shimano XT 12-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. The XT components designated 8100 are designed for 1x12 and 1x12-speed drivetrains. The legendary durability and performance of XT MTB parts is now also available in a 12-speed version. The new Deore XT M8100 series boasts a host of technical highlights, including Shimano’s groundbreaking 12-speed Micro Spline cassettes, available with a range of either 10-45T or 10-51T, 1x12- or 2x12-speed Hollowtech II cranksets, powerful two- and four-piston brakes, I-Spec EV shifters, high-precision 12-speed rear derailleurs and front derailleurs, Ice Tech Frezza brake discs with their outstanding heat dissipation, as well as the WH-M8100 and WH-M8120 wheelsets for XC and enduro use.

Shimano XT RD-M8100 rear derailleur:

The XT RD-M8100 SGS long-cage rear derailleur is designed for use with Shimano 12-speed cassettes featuring 10-45 and 10-51 tooth configurations and a single chainring. The XT Shadow Plus 8100 rear derailleur shifts with extreme precision, speed and smoothness. The new, slimmer design and extremely precise machined fits ensure high shifting precision and a long service life. With the ability to adjust the friction damper as desired via a screw mechanism, the system can be tuned to prioritise maximum stability or minimal operating forces. Furthermore, the rear derailleur features an even slimmer profile, which protects it from damage and further reduces operating forces thanks to the flat angle of engagement.

Shimano Shadow Plus:

The Shimano Shadow Plus mechanism has been further developed on the XT RDM 8100 rear derailleur. With the ability to adjust the friction damper as desired via a screw mechanism, the system can be fine-tuned for maximum stability or minimal operating forces. Furthermore, the rear derailleur features an even slimmer profile, which protects it from damage and further reduces operating forces thanks to the shallow angle of engagement.

Shimano XT 8100 rear derailleur compatibility:

The new Shimano XT 8100 rear derailleur series is only compatible with 12-speed Shimano MTB shifters and 12-speed Shimano cassettes. The CNM8100 chain is recommended. The new 12-speed cassettes are only compatible with the new Micro Spline freehub bodies
