Shimano XTR RD M9120 rear derailleur
The new Shimano XTR 12- and 11-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring either one or two chainrings and the new 12-speed cassettes with 10-45 and 10-51 tooth configurations. The new XTR components from the 9100 / 9120 series are not compatible with older shifters or cassettes. The new Micro Spline freehub body is required for the cassette.
The XTR M9100, the new flagship of Shimano’s mountain bike components, comes with a revolutionary 12-speed cassette with a choice of 10-45 or 10-51 teeth, two- or four-piston brakes, and hubs featuring Shimano’s new Micro Spline technology. The completely redesigned mounting system for shift and brake levers allows users to customise their cockpit for optimal control; a release lever for retractable seatposts, seamlessly integrated into this system, is also available. All in all, the new XTR has shed more than 150 g in weight compared to its predecessor in the XC configuration; for enduro use, this still amounts to a weight saving of 90 g. The shift lever actuation forces and travel have been revised and optimised to guarantee intuitive control in all conditions and allow riders to focus on the challenges of the terrain.
Shimano XTR RD-9120 SGS rear derailleur:
The XTR RDM 9120 SGS long-cage rear derailleur is designed for use with XTR cassettes featuring a 10-45-tooth range and a double chainring. The XTR Shadow Plus 9120 rear derailleur shifts with extreme precision, speed and smoothness. The new, slimmer design, fluorine-coated stainless steel bushings and extremely precise machined fits ensure high shifting precision and a long service life.
Shimano Shadow Plus:
The Shimano Shadow Plus mechanism has been further developed on the XTR RD-M9100 rear derailleur. With the ability to adjust the friction damper as desired via a screw mechanism, the system can be tuned to prioritise maximum stability or minimal operating forces. Furthermore, the rear derailleur features an even slimmer profile, which protects it from damage and further reduces operating forces thanks to the shallow angle of engagement.
Shimano XTR 9120 Rear Derailleur Compatibility:
The new Shimano XTR 9120 rear derailleur series is only compatible with the XTR 12-speed and 11-speed SLM9100 shift levers and the CSM9100 cassettes. The CNM9100 or HG-901 chains are recommended. The 12-speed XTR cassettes are only compatible with the new Micro Spline freehub bodies
