Maxxis Minion DHR II 29-inch tyre, width 2.40, WT, DD, 3C MaxxTerra, TR folding tyre
Tyre: Maxxis MINION DHR 2
With its completely new tread design, the Minion DHR II is the ideal tyre for aggressive gravity riding. Featuring the side knobs of the legendary DHF, which have been slightly widened for even better cornering grip, it offers extreme cornering grip. The centre knobs feature bevelled lugs for better acceleration. Notches on the knobs improve the transition when entering corners. Some of the centre knobs are paddle-shaped; they dig in during hard braking and help keep the bike under control.
2.60WT wide tyres generally have a WT construction, but no WT marking on the tyre sidewall.
Maxxis WITE TRAIL CASING, WT
The Wide Trail construction optimises the tread pattern and tyre shape for today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed for narrow rims and take on an overly angular shape on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but perform excellently on all rims with an inner width between 30 and 39 mm.
The following MTB tyre widths are available in WT construction:
2.40WT
2.50WT
2.60WT-width tyres generally feature a WT construction, but do not have a WT marking on the tyre sidewall.
Maxxis 3C MAXX TERRA
The right 3C compound for enduro and freeride tyres. Smooth rolling uphill and excellent grip downhill characterise this compound, as does its long service life.
Maxxis DOUBLE DOWN
Doubledown tyres are constructed like Maxxis downhill tyres: two carcass plies reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. However, thanks to two 120 TPI carcass plies and an aramid bead, they are significantly lighter than Maxxis downhill tyres, considerably more stable and robust, and therefore ideal for tough enduro courses
Maxxis Tubeless Ready, TR
Tubeless tyres offer many advantages: you can ride with lower air pressure. This provides better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And with no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tyres are better prepared for fitting with sealant than other Tubeless Ready tyres. The bead of TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a genuine UST tubeless tyre. This means that tubeless fitting on all rims with standard dimensions is successful from the very first inflation and with very little sealant.
