Torque Caps:
The wheel mount on many current RockShox suspension forks is designed for Torque Cups. These provide a significantly larger contact surface for the hubs and thus greater stiffness in the suspension fork/wheel system. Torque Cups have a diameter of 31 mm, whereas standard cups are 22 mm.
The name Mavic E-Deemax
has become a benchmark in the e-MTB scene – and the new E-Deemax S lives up to this reputation. The Fore technology offers a stronger rim profile thanks to fewer spoke holes,
a fully sealed rim and no rim tape, making it the best system on the market, developed by the pioneers of tubeless technology. Pinch Flat Protection (PFP) technology ensures the rim flanges’ contact surface is large enough to significantly reduce the risk of cuts and punctures to the tyre. For greater reliability, the rims are welded. Thanks to a 30 mm rim width and tubeless compatibility, it can be ridden with lower tyre pressure to further enhance traction and control.
Mavic E Deemax S UST Disc Force rims:
The wide rims with a 30 mm rim width, made from high-strength Maxtal aluminium, are lightweight and, thanks to their asymmetrical spoke lacing, offer excellent lateral stiffness. The rims, developed specifically for use on e-bikes, are ultra-stable. The rim flanges are highly puncture-resistant thanks to Pinch Flat Protection technology. The new Black Shield hardened rims are extra robust and scratch-resistant. Even in the event of punctures, the rims remain black at the damaged point. The Force threads for the spoke heads are formed into the rims by material displacement; the rim bed itself is undrilled, airtight and requires no tubeless rim tape. This saves weight, simplifies assembly and ensures rims that are 20 per cent stiffer than conventional drilled rims. The rim joint is additionally welded and planed. Thanks to the asymmetrical rim design, braking and drive forces are absorbed evenly, which increases the service life. The E Deemax S rims are suitable for UST, tubeless tyres, Tubeless Ready tyres and standard tyres with an additional inner tube.
Mavic E Deemax spokes:
High-strength aero stainless steel spokes offer very high strength and durability. The spokes form a single unit with the Force nipples. These are screwed directly into the rim, further increasing stability.
Mavic E Deemax S wheel technology:
- Mavic QRM Auto: Mavic’s top-of-the-range bearing technology: featuring a double seal and extremely dimensionally stable, self-aligning, and exceptionally torsionally rigid and durable, perfect for the long-lasting bearing assembly of Mavic hubs.
- Mavic Instant Drive Freehub Body: the Instant Drive 360 freehub system is super-light and ensures rapid power transfer with a mere 9-degree engagement angle. A large, non-contact rubber seal reduces friction. And a wide selection of axle stubs ensures compatibility with many mounting standards. The oversized aluminium axle and the hardened aluminium freehub body save 40 g. Two pawls ensure fast and loss-free power transfer. A radial seal guarantees low friction at high speeds and perfect water resistance. This freehub body is easy to convert and is available as an HG10 version for Shimano and SRAM 8–11-speed, SRAM XD 11-speed and 12-speed XG.
- Mavic UST Force rims: The rim profile with extra-reinforced spokes offers optimum durability. Universal Standard for Tubeless: More tyre grip for better control, no more inner tubes: it sounds too good to be true. UST technology puts an end to inner tube punctures caused by overheated rims, reduces rolling resistance and prevents sudden air loss in the event of a puncture.
- Mavic ISM: Inter Spoke Milling is an exclusive process patented by Mavic. With ISM, the lower deck of the rim is machined between each spoke hole to create a lightweight and robust rim without compromising durability.
- Mavic SRS: Spoke Retention System. The spoke seats on the hub body are specially milled so that the spoke head remains firmly anchored even under extreme conditions. The spoke still has sufficient play to provide adequate flexibility on rough terrain. Spokes remain securely anchored even under the harshest frontal loads. The wheel still offers sufficient flexibility.
- Mavic Maxtal: This aluminium alloy, manufactured exclusively for Mavic, is 30 per cent stronger than 6106 aluminium. This means Maxtal rims can be super-light yet still rigid.
- Mavic SUP: Soude Usine Process. A welded rim joint is more stable, prevents any brake judder and makes it easier to lace and true a perfect wheel.
