The Shimano XT FC-T781 crankset with a 44-32-24-tooth chainring set, 175 mm crank arm length, 10-speed, silver
The Shimano XT crankset for the new 10-speed series with 44-32-24-tooth chainring spacing. Although primarily designed for use on trekking bikes, the Shimano XT FC-MT781 is also perfect for anyone who finds the standard gear range of the Dyna-Sys system too limited. The chain guard is included but can be easily removed.
The middle chainring sits on a composite carrier and has drilled steel teeth. Despite the weight saving, Shimano promises 100 per cent greater durability for the most frequently used chainring. The new crank arms and spider are slimmer and lighter.
Shimano Dyna-Sys component technology, featuring a 10-speed cassette and 48-36-26-tooth chainrings, enables significantly closer gear spacing, resulting in smoother and faster gear changes. Thanks to the chainring spacing and the 10-speed cassette, the rider can stay on the middle chainring for much longer. At the same time, the shifts to the small chainring are less abrupt. This makes shifting down to the small chainring an almost seamless process.
Compatible with 10-speed MTB drivetrains only. The bottom bracket is the same as that used on the FCM 770-speed cranksets.
