Shimano XT Rapidfire SL M780 Shifters

The Shimano XT Rapidfire I-Spec shift levers for direct mounting on the XT BL-M785 I disc brake levers. These shift levers, which do not include a handlebar clamp, are mounted directly onto the I-Spec disc brake levers of the Shimano Saint, SLX, XT, XTR or Zee brakes.

Shimano XT Rapidfire Plus

The shift levers for the new Shimano 10-speed XT rear derailleurs and front derailleurs. With a slim design and removable shift indicator, Shimano continues its tradition of producing lightweight, perfectly functioning shift levers for the rigours of everyday MTB riding with the new 19-speed XT Rapidfire levers. The upper shifter can be pressed or pulled; Shimano calls this technology 2-Way Release. This allows you to shift quickly into the next gear at any time, depending on your grip position and hand position.

Shimano I-Spec mounting:

The XT SLM 780 I shift levers are suitable for direct mounting (I-Spec) onto Shimano disc brake levers. This mounting system ensures space-saving installation of the shift levers directly onto the brake lever clamp. Shimano changed the I-Spec mount for the 2014 system to Type B. You can recognise these by the ‘B’ suffix in the lever designation. Older Shimano I-Spec shift levers can be combined with the new I-Spec brake levers using the new I-Spec adapters: SM-SL98-B, SM-SL78-B and SM-SL82-B.

Shimano Advanced Light Action:

This shifting technology ensures that the forces required to shift between the two largest sprockets are just as high as those between the two smallest.

Shimano Vivid Index:

guarantees intuitive, clearly perceptible feedback during shifting without increasing the required shifting force. With Instant, Multi and Two-Way Release, the new shift levers feature all of Shimano’s high-end technologies and are also equipped with a Mode Converter, which allows the left shift lever to be quickly and easily adjusted for use with 2x or 3x cranksets.

Shimano Instant Release:

ensures faster shifting. The cable is released immediately when the lever is actuated. You can shift faster than before. The double-bearing levers can be mounted to the left or right of the brake lever clamp to optimise space on the handlebars. The new, space-saving optical gear indicator can be removed if required.

The XT Rapidfire SLM 780 is compatible with all Dyna-Sys and Shimano 10-speed MTB rear derailleurs; it is not compatible with Shimano 9-speed MTB rear derailleurs
