Shimano XT RD M786 SGS rear derailleur

The Shadow Plus RDM 786 rear derailleur features a switch on the derailleur cage that allows for a stiffer spring tension to be set and a friction stabiliser to be activated. This counteracts the forces generated by the chain’s up and down movements on rough terrain.

Equipped with a wider parallelogram, the XT 780 Shadow rear derailleur offers greater vertical stability, which reduces the rear derailleur hitting the right seatstay on bumpy trails. The rear derailleur is precisely positioned and functions perfectly. Particular attention was paid to the rear derailleur with a view to achieving the lowest possible weight and crisp shifting for extreme use. The cable length has been reduced, as less cable means less friction and therefore better feedback.
