Shimano XTR FC Crank - M9100

The new Shimano XTR 12-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring either one or two chainrings, and the new 12-speed cassette with a 10-45 gear range or the 11-speed cassette with a 10-45 gear range. The new XTR components from the 9100 / 9120 series are not compatible with older 11-speed rear derailleurs, shift levers or hubs.

The XTR M9100, the new flagship of Shimano’s mountain bike components, comes with a revolutionary 12-speed cassette with a choice of 10-45 or 10-51 teeth, two- or four-piston brakes and hubs featuring Shimano’s new Micro Spline technology. The completely redesigned mounting system for shift and brake levers allows users to customise their cockpit for optimal control; a release lever for dropper seatposts, seamlessly integrated into this system, is also available. All in all, the new XTR has shed more than 150 g in weight compared to its predecessor in the XC configuration; for enduro use, this still amounts to a weight saving of 90 g. The shift lever actuation forces and travel have been revised and optimised to guarantee intuitive control in all conditions and allow riders to focus on the challenges of the terrain.

Shimano XTR FC-M9100 crankset

The new cranks with the Shimano Direct Mount mount are suitable for Boost 148 mm and standard 142 mm rear triangles. The FC-M9100 cranksets, with a Q-factor of 162 mm, are designed for hardtail frames with narrow rear triangles. Thanks to the modular chainring mount, the XTR cranksets can be easily converted from a single-chainring to a double-chainring setup. All that is required are the necessary chainrings and chainring bolts.

Shimano Direct Mount chainring mount:

The new XTR cranksets now also feature a Direct Mount chainring mount. This allows the chainrings to be changed easily. Alternatively, Shimano also offers a 2-speed spider. This allows for the installation of a maximum gear range. The 2-speed XTR crankset can only be used with the XTR 10-45-tooth cassette and the RDM9120 SGS rear derailleur. The TL-FC41 tool is required for removing and fitting the chainring. The XT SMCRM85 and XTR SMCR95 can be used as single-speed chainrings
