Shimano XTR Disc FHM911BS Straightpull Hub
The Shimano XTR M9100, the new flagship of Shimano’s mountain bike components, features, amongst other things, a revolutionary 12-speed cassette with a choice of 10-45 or 10-51 teeth, two- or four-piston brakes and hubs with Shimano’s new Micro Spline technology. A completely redesigned mounting system for shift and brake levers enables users to customise their cockpit for optimal control; a release lever for dropper seatposts, optimally integrated into this system, is also available. All in all, the new XTR has shed more than 150 g in weight compared to its predecessor in the XC configuration; for enduro use, the weight saving is still a significant 90 g. The shift lever forces and travel have been revised and optimised to guarantee intuitive control in all conditions and allow riders to focus on the challenges of the terrain.
Shimano XTR FHM9111 BS Straightpull rear hub:
The Shimano XTR disc brake rear hub in the straight-pull version. Designed for a 3-cross spoke pattern, it offers the perfect conditions for particularly laterally stiff and durable wheelsets. Typical of Shimano XTR, the finest materials are used. Stainless steel ball rings, high-end polished raceways, angled bearings, double labyrinth seals and the titanium freehub body are the hallmarks of the Shimano XTR rear hubs. The new bearings and seals significantly increase the service life of the Shimano XTR hubs. Designed for maximum wheel stiffness with a large flange spacing and an extended flange at the sprocket side
Shimano XTR Boost 12x148 rear hub:
The Boost 12x148 rear hubs feature a wider hub body with spoke holes and flanges positioned further outwards. This makes these wheels even more laterally stiff and durable. Due to the wider hub design with a 148x12 mm thru-axle mount, these hubs cannot be fitted to frames with an X12x142 mm mounting dimension and are only compatible with frames featuring a Boost 12x148 mm rear dropout.
Shimano Micro Spline 12-speed freehub body:
the first new freehub body system since the introduction of the HG10 freehub bodies almost 20 years ago. The fine-pitch gearing ensures a perfect fit for the new Shimano 12-speed MTB cassettes. Not compatible with older Shimano HG cassettes.
The Micro Spline freehub body reduces weight with a lightweight cassette hub, with the smallest sprocket having 10 teeth. Smaller and more widely spaced teeth prevent sprocket damage on the freehub body, which is made from lightweight aluminium.
