Shimano XTR FC Chainring - M9100

The new Shimano XTR 12-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring either one or two chainrings and the new 12-speed cassette with a 10-45 gear range or the 11-speed cassette with a 10-45 gear range. The new XTR components from the 9100 / 9120 series are not compatible with older 11-speed rear derailleurs, shift levers or hubs.

The XTR M9100, the new flagship of Shimano’s mountain bike components, comes with a revolutionary 12-speed cassette with a choice of 10-45 or 10-51 teeth, two- or four-piston brakes and hubs featuring Shimano’s new Micro Spline technology. The completely redesigned mounting system for shift and brake levers allows users to customise their cockpit for optimal control; a release lever for dropper seatposts, seamlessly integrated into this system, is also available. All in all, the new XTR has shed more than 150 g in weight compared to its predecessor in the XC configuration; for enduro use, this still amounts to a weight saving of 90 g. The shift forces and travel have been revised and optimised to guarantee intuitive control in all conditions and allow riders to focus on the challenges of the terrain.

Shimano XTR SMCRM95 chainring:

The Dynamic Chain Engagement Plus chainrings from the Shimano XTR 12x1 series SM-CRM95. Available from 30 to 38 teeth. For proper functioning, the Shimano XTR chain requires chainrings that are optimised for this chain. SRAM or other 12-speed chainrings without the special XTR 12-speed optimisation cause chain jams.

Shimano Direct Mount chainring mount:

The new XTR cranksets now also come with a Direct Mount chainring mount. This allows the chainrings to be changed easily. Alternatively, Shimano also offers a 2-speed spider. This allows for a maximum gear range to be fitted. The 2-speed XTR crankset can only be used with the XTR 10-45-tooth cassette and the RDM9120 SGS rear derailleur. The TL-FC41 tool is required for removing and fitting the chainring. The XT SMCRM85 and XTR SMCR95 can be used as single-speed chainrings
