Shimano XTR FC Crankset - M9120

The new Shimano XTR 12-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring either one or two chainrings and the new 12-speed cassette with a 10-45 gear range or the 11-speed cassette with a 10-45 gear range. The new XTR components from the 9100 / 9120 series are not compatible with older 11-speed rear derailleurs, shift levers or hubs.

The XTR M9100, the new flagship of Shimano’s mountain bike components, comes with a revolutionary 12-speed cassette with a choice of 10-45 or 10-51 teeth, two- or four-piston brakes and hubs featuring Shimano’s new Micro Spline technology. The completely redesigned mounting system for shift and brake levers allows users to customise their cockpit for optimal control; a release lever for dropper seatposts, seamlessly integrated into this system, is also available. All in all, the new XTR has shed more than 150 g in weight compared to its predecessor in the XC configuration; for enduro use, the weight saving is still a significant 90 g. The operating forces and travel for shifting have been revised and optimised to guarantee intuitive control in all conditions and a focus on the challenges of the terrain.

Shimano XTR Crankset FC-M9120:

The new cranks with the Shimano Direct Mount mount are suitable for Boost 148 mm and standard 142 mm rear triangles. The FC-M9120 cranks with a Q-factor of 168 mm are designed for full-suspension frames with standard-width rear ends. Thanks to the modular chainring mount, the XTR cranks can be easily converted from a single-chainring to a double-chainring setup. All that is required are the necessary chainrings and chainring bolts.

Shimano Direct Mount chainring mount:

The new XTR cranksets now also feature a Direct Mount chainring mount. This allows the chainrings to be changed easily. Alternatively, Shimano also offers a 2-speed spider. This allows for a maximum gear range to be fitted. The 2-speed XTR crankset can only be used with the XTR 10-45-tooth cassette and the RDM9120 SGS rear derailleur. The TL-FC41 tool is required for removing and fitting the chainring. The XT SMCRM85 and XTR SMCR95 chainrings can be used as single-speed chainrings
