Shimano XT RD T8000 rear derailleur
To complement the electronic Di2 components for the M8000 groupset, Shimano is also introducing the Deore XT’s specific trekking components. Under the product designation T8000, touring cyclists can access the most advanced and modern specific trekking components Shimano has ever developed. The Deore XT range now extends, on the one hand, into the XC race segment and, on the other, to comfortable touring and trekking bikes.
The rear derailleur guides the chain swiftly and reliably across the 10-speed cassette. For the first time in the history of SHIMANO’s trekking-specific component groups, a rear derailleur featuring SHADOW technology is being used. When weighing up the minimal effort and high comfort offered by the dual-servo pantograph technology against the low profile and more powerful shifting of a SHADOW rear derailleur, the choice for trekking groups has always fallen on the former option. Thanks to the advanced design of the levers and rear derailleur, as well as the new, extremely low-friction OPTISLICK cables, it has now been possible for the first time to combine the benefits of a SHADOW rear derailleur with the light and comfortable operation required for trekking.
