DT Swiss Ratchet and Pawl Freehub Body

The freehub bodies for DT Swiss road, gravel, MTB and e-bike hubs

The latest DT Swiss hubs use ratchet pawl systems for the freehub bodies. Only the older 370 hub series still require the 3-pawl system.

DT Swiss Ratchet Star:

The Ratchet Star system was DT Swiss’s first freehub system of this type. This tried-and-tested system is used in DT Swiss products in the mid-price range, such as the 350 hub and the older DT Swiss 240S and 180 hubs.

DT Swiss Ratchet EXP:

Ratchet EXP is DT Swiss’s lightest freehub system and is therefore used in DT Swiss products designed for the most demanding applications. It is used in the 180 and 240 hubs.

DT Swiss Ratchet LN:

Ratchet LN belongs to the entry-level range of DT Swiss ratchet systems and is therefore used in lower-priced products, such as the 370 hub. The Ratchet LN replaces the pawl freewheel system.

DT Swiss Three Pawl:

The three-pawl freehub system was used in affordable entry-level wheelsets with 370 DT Swiss hubs. Conversion kits containing sprockets, springs and a hub insert are available to convert older 370 hubs with the three-pawl system to the Ratchet LN system.
